Silent Hill, 4th Completion

I have completed Silent Hill three separate times, each completion a few years apart. Because of this, I've always gotten the Bad+ ending. That red liquid is so easy to forget when you haven't played in a while. Luckily, I was on top of it this playthrough. The Good+ ending is just so much better, that's really all there is to it. Gave me a much better Silent Hill experience than I've actually ever had. I cherish this game, it gets better for me every time I play it! Now, on to the UFO ending.. ^^

Feelin' Amnish

As of late, I have been playing quite a bit of Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn. The game has been in my collection since release, some 12 years now. I have always loved it, but never finished it. My hope is to change that finally. The reason for having not completed it is a combination of my previously insufficient attention span, and the games' brutal difficulty. BG2 is quite literally harder than a T-Rex turd. Nevertheless, I shall persevere..

B is for Booyah

Finally made B rank tonight, fairly excited about it. 427 wins 336 losses. At the time of writing this I'm the #265 Blanka in North America. Definitely want to see if I can make at least top 100.

Bonus, here's a little salt added for flavor:

Street Fighting

I just wanted to say a little about Street Fighter, as it has been occupying nearly all of my gaming time lately. I'm not meaning to neglect my precious blog, rather I've been playing a game that can't simply be "beat". After watching two extremely interesting and inspiring documentaries: I Got Next, and Focus, I've been playing online ranked matches obsessively. I haven't been this amped about online gaming in a good while, at least not since the last WoW expansion. I absolutely love the ranking, replay functionality, and everything about Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition. It is without a doubt, the definitive online fighting game experience. Competitive fighting gaming is something I've always been passionate about, just never had the means to really develop at. Prior to just a few years ago, the only way to compete and get better at fighting games depended largely on your geographic location. Without much of a "scene" locally, or people with a strong desire to compete, it gets pretty lonely. Now here we are in 2011, during the heart of what many people consider to be a rebirth of the fighting game community. It's very exciting! I am grateful for this opportunity to chase a dream that has been on my mind for years.

I've been playing Blanka almost exclusively, so far producing pretty good results. I can definitely say that I am playing at a higher level than ever before. I can all ready see progress. From the very first matches I played online and got completely stomped, to the occasional perfect victory I pull over on somebody now. Right now I'm at a C+ rank, with just a little ways until I reach B. I may never make it to an elite, tournament level of play. However, the prospect of climbing the leaderboards on the PlayStation Network is plenty enticing. At some point if I'm feeling ambitious enough, I'd like to create a video. Something like a highlights video for my character, Blanka. Complete with carefully selected music to accompany the action. It will appear here first of course ^^

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

Title: Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Platform: PlayStation 3
Developer: Naughty Dog
Difficulty: Normal
Playtime: 15 Hours, 2 Minutes

I had heard that they dialed it up a notch for the sequel, man ya'll weren't kidding. The first game was pretty awesome, but this one was full-blown awesome extravaganza. Bigger and better in pretty much every sense, while keeping to the working formula from the first. The variety of environments and climates was definitely a nice change of pace. I enjoyed seeing the snow capped peaks of the Himalayas, as well as the standard lush tropical fare. Uncharted 2 provides a full dose of satisfying shooting, exploring, and puzzle-solving. I'm looking forward to experiencing the third game in the series. Until then, I'm going to stick around with this title for a bit longer. There are still many trophies to be had, particularly in multi-player ^^

Dead Nation

Title: Dead Nation
Platform: PlayStation 3
Developer: Housemarque
Playtime: Unsure
Difficulty: Normal

First "bro-op" completion with my bro for life Kainr (PSN: four3four). I absolutely loved this game. It was reminiscent of Super Smash TV, Total Carnage, and other classic "run-n-gun" shooters. It was an absolute blast to play it cooperatively, I can't recommend it enough. Especially for the low price of $14.99 - you get every penny's worth in entertainment. I've always been a fan of top-down perspectives, and smaller character/enemy models.. so this game appealed to my strange sensibilities, while being a very solid shooter for anyone who appreciates them. It provided many an intense moment. I wouldn't mind revisiting the game to try and improve times, and try a harder difficulty. Fun premise, fun weapons, fun game.. so many headshots ^^
